I thought I should check in quick as I haven't been around in a while. Here are my pre-wedding and pre-planning updates:
I've decided that searching for a new job is full-time job in it of itself. I've been super busy and extremely worn out the past few weeks as I roll out application after application. Still no luck in the search, but this period of my life can't last much longer.
While laying in bed petting Ian's head last night, I started to sing him his favorite sleepy-time song, "On the Front Porch" from the Disney movie Summer Magic. It has been one of my favorite songs since I was a kid and I have always loved singing it to Ian. I started thinking that I should learn how to play it on the guitar. Maybe I can keep the tune but change the words to make it a song I wrote just for him and surprise him with it by singing at our wedding. It's just a thought I had.
While at the bank last week, Ian and I opened a savings accounts named "Wedding Fund". It feels so official now!! :D Into the account we deposited a check for $25 that my grandma sent us saying, "Maybe this check will put you closer to setting the date. If I could, I would add a few zeros to it." She's so sweet - I'm used to getting a $5 bill for my birthday and Christmas each year, so imagine my surprise when I saw the check for five times that amount!! We also added $100 cash from my mom to the account. My mom doesn't have a lot of money, but she wants to help us out as much as she can and hopes to give us $100 for the wedding fund every month or so.
Our Wedding Fund now sits at $125. Whoohoo - three whole digits!! (Hey, those digits added up quicker than I was expecting, to be honest, so don't judge my excitement.) Ian and I agreed that when the account hits four-digits we will begin discussing a date and place. Then I can officially start planning the wedding. For now, I must be patient.
